First Staging Point, leave 10:00 AM at
the Defunct Big Boy Restaurant, Rochester Rd. and 16
Mile ( Metropolitan Pkwy.), just N. 1/4 Mi from I-75
and Rochester Rd.
We will
proceed Eastward on Metro Pkwy turning onto I-94 east.
Traveling on E. I-94, the next turn is the 23 Mile Rd.
Exit E., turn to the left and then right into the drive
of the Parking lot of the Ford Dealership ( just across
the Big Boy Restaurant); on 23 Mi. Rd. just east I-94.
Second Staging Point, 11:00 AM in the
drive of the Parking lot of the Ford Dealership (
just across the Big Boy at the Big Boy Restaurant,
23 Mile Rd. 1/4 Mi E. of I-94
We always enjoy doing something a little different; a
little known scenic back road way in to Algonac.
And of course once we cross over the ferry we like to
also get to the cottage via the indirect but also very
scenic back way.
Once on the Island follow M-154 East
(left turn off the ferry) stay on the main grade,
the road makes a few turns. You will look for the
address 4458 M-154 (Green Drive). There is a sign
in front saying Couture - Bonsetto
Some of you may want to proceed to Al's
directly, we should be arriving on the Island
12-12:30.PM
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Harsens Island Ferry is off M-29, two miles S.
of Algonac around the bend to the left, plainly marked by a
Road sign and at the Stoplight. $7.00 round trip.
To the Picnic On Harsens follow M-154, the main
grade to the House. The House is 13 doors south of St. Marks
Catholic church( small white church).
On Harsens the roads pretty much follow the
perimeter of the island.
CB radios are would be handy, if you have one
bring it.
